No custom onboarding configured? Subscribers still get the standard welcome message. Nothing breaks. This is fully opt-in per tier.
Why This Matters
The generic welcome DM was fine for simple communities. But if you’re running a course, a mastermind, or any tier where people need to do something after subscribing, a generic message wastes the most important moment in the subscriber lifecycle.

How It Works
Building Your Welcome DM
Each onboarding DM is built with content blocks — think of them like building blocks you arrange in order:
Section blocks have a title, details, and an optional link:
- “Course Portal” → “Log in with your Discord email” → [course URL]
- “Getting Started” → “1. Watch the intro\n2. Join #introductions\n3. Ask your first question”
Text blocks are free-form paragraphs:
- “Welcome to the Mastermind. Here’s everything you need to get started.”
Mix and match however you want. Reorder them, edit them, delete them. The DM shows your blocks exactly in the order you set.
Setting It Up
- Run
/setupand select a pricing option - Choose “Setup Onboarding DM” from the dropdown
- Add your blocks
- Hit “Send Test DM” to preview it
- Done — the next subscriber gets your custom message
Total setup time: about 2 minutes per tier.
