LaunchPass takes 3–5% of every transaction, forces you to set up a separate join page, and adds complexity where there shouldn’t be any. At 100 subscribers paying $20/month, that’s $100/month going to a middleman — $1,200 a year — for something that should be simple.
The thing is, you already own your Stripe account. Your subscribers, payment methods, and revenue are all yours. LaunchPass just connects to your account and handles role assignment. That’s it. But somehow it turns that into a complicated process.
PayBot’s new Stripe Migration feature replaces that connection. Import your existing subscribers, assign Discord roles by product, and send setup emails — all from inside Discord. No configuration maze. And instead of forcing you to build a join page, PayBot generates a ready-made payment page and direct checkout links for every tier. Drop a link on your website or bio and it just works. Your subscribers keep paying the same way. They won’t even notice the switch.
What Changed
Before today, PayBot only tracked subscriptions it created. If you had subscribers from LaunchPass, Memberful, or Stripe’s own payment links, PayBot didn’t know about them.
Now, Stripe Sync scans your connected account and imports every subscription PayBot doesn’t already manage. They show up grouped by Stripe product, ready for you to assign roles and send setup emails.
How It Works
Step 1: Enable Stripe Sync
Run /manage in your Discord server and enable the Stripe Sync toggle. PayBot scans your Stripe account and imports untracked subscriptions automatically.
Step 2: View Product Groups
Click “Needs Setup” in the manage dashboard. Instead of a flat list of names, you’ll see your subscribers organized by Stripe product — each group showing the product name, price, subscriber count, and role status.
This is the key difference from managing subscribers one at a time. If you have 50 VIP members and 30 Basic members, you see two groups, not 80 individual entries.
Step 3: Assign Roles (One Click Per Product)
Select a product group and click Assign Role. PayBot shows your server’s Discord roles — pick the one that matches. That role applies to every subscriber in the group instantly.
When new subscribers show up for a product that already has a role assigned, they inherit the same mapping automatically. You only assign once.
Step 4: Send Setup Emails
Click Send All Emails to notify every subscriber in the group. Each person gets a personalized email with a unique link to connect their Discord account. When they click it:
- They authenticate with Discord (takes 30 seconds)
- PayBot links their Discord to their Stripe subscription
- They get added to your server and receive their role
That’s it. No re-checkout. No payment changes. Just a quick Discord connection.
The LaunchPass Migration Path
If you’re specifically moving from LaunchPass, here’s the playbook:
- Connect your Stripe account to PayBot — same account LaunchPass is using
- Enable Stripe Sync — PayBot imports all active subscriptions
- Assign roles and send emails — subscribers connect their Discord through PayBot
- Wait a few days — monitor who’s connected in the
/managedashboard - Disconnect LaunchPass — their percentage fees stop immediately
Run both platforms during the transition. Your subscribers keep paying you through Stripe the entire time — nothing changes on their end.
How Much You’ll Save
| Subscribers | Avg Price | LaunchPass (5%) | Annual Savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 | $15/mo | $11.25/mo | $135/year |
| 50 | $15/mo | $37.50/mo | $450/year |
| 100 | $20/mo | $100/mo | $1,200/year |
| 500 | $20/mo | $500/mo | $6,000/year |
PayBot charges a flat rate, not a percentage. The more you grow, the more you save.
What About New Subscribers?
Once Stripe Sync is enabled, PayBot captures all new subscription events via Stripe webhooks — even subscriptions created outside of PayBot. New subscribers appear in the “Needs Setup” dashboard automatically and inherit whatever role mapping you’ve already set up for their product.
FAQ
Will my subscribers lose access during migration? No. Their Stripe subscriptions continue uninterrupted. You’re only changing who manages Discord roles — not how payments work.
Do subscribers need to re-enter payment info? No. Their subscriptions stay on your Stripe account exactly as they are.
What if someone doesn’t click the setup email? You can re-send from the /manage dashboard. Links expire after 7 days, but you can generate new ones anytime.
Does this work with Whop or Patreon? Stripe Migration works with platforms where you own the Stripe account (LaunchPass, Memberful, direct Stripe). Platforms like Whop and Patreon own the billing relationship, making migration more complex.
Get Started
If you’re already running PayBot, just enable Stripe Sync in /manage. If you’re new, run /setup to connect your Stripe account first.
