Automations: Connect PayBot to Zapier, Make & Your Own Workflows

Every time someone subscribes to your Discord, you probably want to do more than just assign a role. Send them a welcome email. Add them to your course platform. Update a spreadsheet. Notify your team.

Until now, you had to do all that manually. Not anymore.

Introducing Automations - PayBot now sends webhooks to Zapier, Make, n8n, or any URL you choose whenever a subscription event happens.

How It Works

1. You paste a webhook URL from Zapier/Make into PayBot
2. Someone subscribes to your Discord
3. PayBot instantly sends their data to your webhook
4. Your automation runs - email sent, course access granted, spreadsheet updated
5. All without you touching anything

The same works for cancellations. Know instantly when someone leaves so you can follow up or adjust access.

What Data You Get

PayBot sends everything you need to personalize your automations:

Subscriber info:

• Discord username and ID
• Email address (from Stripe checkout)

Subscription details:

• Tier name and price
• Monthly or one-time
• When they subscribed

Your server:

• Server name and ID
• Affiliate referral code (if applicable)

This means your welcome email can say “Thanks for joining the Premium tier, John!” and your spreadsheet can track exactly which tiers are selling.

Real Use Cases

Welcome emails: Send a personalized welcome with onboarding instructions via Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or Gmail.

Course access: Auto-enroll new subscribers in Teachable, Thinkific, or Kajabi.

Spreadsheet tracking: Log every subscriber to Google Sheets or Airtable for your own analytics.

Team notifications: Get pinged in Slack or Teams when someone joins or cancels.

CRM sync: Add subscribers to HubSpot, Pipedrive, or Salesforce with their tier and payment info.

Digital delivery: Trigger Gumroad or SendOwl to deliver bonus content or downloads.

Setting It Up

Takes about 5 minutes:

1. Run /setup in Discord → Settings → Automations
2. Create a webhook in Zapier (use “Webhooks by Zapier” → “Catch Hook”)
3. Copy the URL Zapier gives you
4. Paste it in PayBot and select which events you want
5. Click Test Webhook to verify it works
6. Build your Zap with the subscriber data fields

Who Gets This

Automations are available on all paid plans (Small, Large, Ultra). If you’re on a paid plan, you have it now.

Not on a paid plan yet? This is a good reason to upgrade. The Small plan is $9/month, and automations alone can save you hours of manual work each week.

What’s Next

This is the foundation. We’re already thinking about:

• More event types (payment failed, subscription renewed, etc.)
• Pre-built Zapier templates for common workflows
• Webhook delivery logs in Discord

For now, the two events most creators need are ready: subscription created and subscription cancelled.
